Modes of Operation

The CO2 laser system offers 4 modes of energy delivery:

1. CW Mode (Continuous Wave):

Emits one continuous and consistent laser energy, typically used for excision or cutting.

2. Pulse Mode (Single pulse):

Produces a single pulse of laser energy for more supervised and accurate energy delivery.

On  time Exposure: 10  100 ms

3. Repeat Mode:

Produces a series of either short or long pulses of laser energy at variable speeds.

On-time exposure :10  100 ms

Off  time delay: 10  100 ms

4. Super Pulse Mode:

Super pulse mode provides the highest peak power with the shortest pulse duration, enabling the deepest penetration with minimal residual thermal damage. This mode is designed for performing ablation without inflammation and achieves highly effective results with minimal downtime and enhanced patient comfort.

Handpieces NOTES:

50 mm & 100 mm

These are stand-alone surgical-style focusing lenses.
You hold them directly over the treatment area, and the CO₂ beam passes straight through their optics.
They can be used:
  • By themselves for cutting, ablation, or coagulation
  • With a scanner (like LiteScan) for fractional resurfacing
  • They are not part of the Pixel 7×7 or 9×9 stamping setup.
On the Alma Pixel CO₂, the 50 mm handpiece is the optical attachment that determines:
  1. Spot size & coverage area – The “50 mm” refers to its focal length. That changes how the beam converges and how large the treated area is at a given working distance.
  2. Beam focus & energy density – A shorter focal length like 50 mm produces a smaller, tighter spot size at closer range, which increases the energy density (more intense treatment per square mm).
  3. Treatment depth & precision – Because it’s more focused, the 50 mm handpiece is typically used for more precise resurfacing, fractional ablation, or targeted lesion removal in smaller zones.
  4. Distance from skin – The lens’ focal distance controls how far the handpiece must be from the skin for optimal energy delivery. A 50 mm lens requires you to work closer to the skin than a 100 mm lens.
In practice, the 50 mm handpiece is often used for:
  • Localized wrinkle and scar revision
  • Fractional skin resurfacing in tighter areas (around eyes, lips, or small scars)
  • Benign lesion removal with higher precision
  • Pixel mode treatments when higher ablation density is needed in a confined zone

In practice, the 100 mm handpiece is often used for:

  • Cutting, vaporization, or excision of soft tissue with high accuracy
  • Common in dermatology, ENT, gynecology, and aesthetic surgery

The 100 mm handpiece focuses the C)2 laser bean into a small, high-intensity spot at a lot longer distance, ideal for precise ablation, cutting, and surgical procedures. It does not pixelate or fractionate the beam – it delivers a solid, continuous beam used in surgical mode, not frational mode.

Feature / Spec 50 mm Handpiece 100 mm Handpiece
Type Focusing (Surgical) Focusing (Surgical)
Focal Length 50 mm 100 mm
Spot Size (typical) ~200–400 µm (smaller focus) ~100–200 µm (smaller, finer beam)
Working Distance Shorter (closer to tissue) Longer (allows more space between hand & tissue)
Precision High (good for controlled ablation) Very high (ideal for delicate work)
Visibility of Field Moderate (closer range reduces visual access) Improved (longer distance gives clearer view)
Common Uses General surgical ablation, dermatology lesions ENT, gynecology, microsurgery, fine dermatology
Beam Divergence More divergence at close range Tighter, more collimated beam
Tissue Penetration Shallow to moderate Moderate to deeper (more precision)
Control & Ergonomics More hand stability required Easier handling with stand-off distance

7×7 / 9×9 Pixel Handpieces
  • These are dedicated fractional optics that contain a Diffractive Optical Element (DOE).
  • The DOE splits the beam into a fixed array of 49 (7×7) or 81 (9×9) microbeams.
  • The Pixel handpiece is its own optical module — the 50 mm and 100 mm lenses do not attach to it.
  • If you want a different focal length with Pixel stamping, you’d swap to a different Pixel handpiece model (not add a 50 mm lens).
FemmeLift Vaginal Probe

The FemiLift is a specialized vaginal CO₂ laser system designed to improve the health and function of the vaginal tissue. It works by delivering fractional CO₂ laser energy inside the vaginal canal, which stimulates the body’s natural healing process. This energy promotes the production of collagen and elastin, two critical proteins responsible for tissue strength, elasticity, and moisture retention. As a result, the vaginal walls become thicker, more elastic, and better lubricated, which helps alleviate symptoms such as vaginal dryness and discomfort.

One of the key benefits of FemiLift is its ability to address vaginal laxity by tightening the vaginal walls. This can improve both physical support and sexual function, enhancing comfort and sensation during intercourse. Additionally, FemiLift may help reduce mild stress urinary incontinence by strengthening the tissues that support the bladder and urethra. It is also effective in treating atrophic vaginitis, a condition characterized by thinning and irritation of the vaginal lining, especially common in post-menopausal women.

The procedure is minimally invasive and typically takes about 15 to 30 minutes. It is usually performed over a series of three sessions spaced several weeks apart to achieve optimal results. Since FemiLift is a non-hormonal treatment, it is a suitable option for women who cannot or prefer not to use hormonal therapies. However, it is important that the treatment is administered by trained healthcare professionals to ensure safety and effectiveness. While FemiLift is not a replacement for surgical interventions, it offers a less invasive alternative for women seeking relief from mild to moderate vaginal health concerns.
